Chiropractic Plus and You
At Chiropractic Plus we
work
to relieve the pain and symptoms
patients may have, but our
ultimate goal is to help them reach a healthier plateau and stay there
- not just to treat the symptoms.
A symptom, by definition, is "a subjective, perceptible change in the
body or its function that indicates disease or the phases of disease."
It usually is a signal that something deeper or more involved is
in progress. Rather than just putting "Band-Aids" on symptoms, we
are interested in finding and resolving the underlying problems that
are leading to the symptoms occurring. To
accomplish this goal, we focus on using more than just chiropractic
techniques.
With chiropractic as the "connector" to help the body function the way it was designed, Dr. Bradley and Dr. Appow utilize a variety of therapies including:
- body alignment,
- deep tissue release,
- Activator technique,
- trigger point muscle therapy and
- a number of cutting edge therapeutic machines.
Our care begins with a comprehensive examination. Properly diagnosing your condition is imperative in order to develop a treatment plan for your body to reach its optimal healthy state. Our treatments deal with all of the body components which are connected to the skeletal system. (the surrounding soft tissue, nerves, blood supply). Therefore, in addition to providing the release from subluxation (interference from the spinal nerves), our doctors also incorporate intensive hands-on treatment.
One of the aspects that separates us from many other chiropractic facilities in New York City is that all of this work is done by the chiropractors themselves - not a technician or assistant. You can expect to spend about 45 minutes or more with the doctor for each appointment.
In our continual search for success, we have tested many alternative non-hands-on methods to determine overall effectiveness and safety when indicated. Our cutting-edge state of the art equipment is prescribed to manage pain, inflammation, muscle spasms and body tension and includes:
